notification: Distance learning continues at Perho Culinary, Tourism & Business College, at least until 28 February 2021

29.1.2021

On Wednesday, 27 January 2021, the Helsinki Metropolitan Area Corona Coordination Group announced the continuation of regional restrictive measures until the end of February. This decision also concerns the continuation of secondary education by distance learning until 28 February 2021. However, the Coordination Group will review the situation at its meeting next week. The Perho Culinary, Tourism & Business College has decided to continue with distance learning until the end of week 8, i.e. 28 February 2021.

According to the Helsinki Metropolitan Area Corona Coordination Group, developments in the coronavirus epidemic cause concern, particularly in the Uusimaa region. There has been a rise in the number of positive coronavirus tests in the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa among the 16–18 and 19–30 age groups in particular. On 27 January, the Coordination Group decided that most of the coronavirus-related restrictions and recommendations set for the Helsinki Metropolitan Area in late November would be extended to 28 February 2021. However, the restrictions on group sports opportunities for people under the age of 20 will be relaxed, subject to compliance with safety rules.

Under the current circumstances, the Perho contingency group has decided that the academic year 2021 will mainly continue on a distance learning basis. A broader return to group-based contact teaching will begin no earlier than Monday 1 March 2021, provided this can be done safely in accordance with the regional coronavirus situation and official guidelines. Despite the restrictions, our campuses remain open and the Perho Culinary, Tourism & Business College’s support services are available during the distance learning period. Clubs and other users of the Helmi Center will be informed separately about use of the Malmi campus facilities for sports activities for under-20s.

notification: Perho CTB College will switch to remote studying from Mon 30.11.2020 until further notice

Perho Culinary, Tourism & Business College will provide an opportunity for students with special learning needs and small groups that require classroom teaching to participate in lessons on campus. In such cases, the appropriate safe distances, mask requirements, and coronavirus safety guidelines will be observed.
