Perho Culinary, Tourism & Business College’s English-taught studies of Restaurant Cook – Culinary Expert and Restaurant Waiter – Hospitality Expert offer many national and international possibilities for your career. All the way, the studies also improve your English language skills as well as Finnish.
A vocational qualification in Restaurant and Catering Services is a secondary-level vocational education. It follows the official Finnish national curriculum providing broad-based and diverse cooking, serving, sales and customer service skills. Every student will have a personal competence development plan made together with career counsellors.
Two study models of Restaurant and Catering Services
1/ In the full-time day program, you’ll practice & learn the vocational skills of a cook in the teaching restaurant Perho & classrooms on Töölö Campus and in working life by training agreements. Also, you’ll have studies on our e-learning campus iPerho.
2/ In the work-based studies, you’ll study full-time in working life by an apprenticeship contract, by training agreements or, you mix these two study models.

You can send your application to the full-time day program and work-based studies at any time in the continuous admission. We will contact you by email within two weeks of receiving your application.
We will invite selected applicants for an interview based on their application and supporting documents, including educational certificates and a motivation letter. In the interview, we pay attention to your career plan, motivation and preconditions in studying the vocational qualification in Restaurant and Catering Services.
During the interview, we pay attention to the following questions:

- your vision of working in restaurants
- realistic preconditions to study.
