10 Years of the Harvest Market
Perho’s ‘Täyskymppi’ anniversary year kicks off at the Harvest Market
Date and time: Saturday 19 September 2026, 10.00–15.00
Venue: Perho Culinary, Tourism & Business College, Vanha Helsingintie 13, Malmi Campus, Helsinki
The Harvest Market is returning to the Malmi campus for the tenth time, marking the start of Perho Business College’s ‘Täyskymppi’ anniversary year and the events taking place throughout it. Did you know that 2026 will also mark Green City Farm’s 10th growing season?

A feast of flavours
Perho’s restaurant industry alumni welcome you to the Makujen Food Fair, a world of pure flavours, unique dishes and drinks conjured up by top professionals. Participants include the Finnish National Culinary Team, Restaurant Perho, Perho Brewery and Juustola.
At the Food Market, you can enjoy delicacies prepared by catering students, inspired by sustainable food production and international food culture. The selection includes energy drinks and luxury chocolates, amongst other things.
Take home some produce from Green City Farm’s fields
In keeping with tradition, the harvest market sells Perho Green City Farm’s organically grown produce: vegetables, herbs and flowers.
Smallholdings in the neighbouring municipalities offer a wide range of artisan products, vegetables, honey, cheeses, grains, flours, coffee and baked goods.
The hut was officially opened by Chef of the Year Simo Harrivaara
Chef of the Year Simo Harrivaara will officially open the hut and cook up a tasty treat for visitors using vegetables grown in Green City Farm’s fields.
Plenty of activities for children and young people
Business and tourism students are organising a wide range of entertainment for children and young people: flexibility and exercise on the obstacle course, a relaxing reading corner, colouring and drawing activities, face painting and outdoor games.
Children can get to know some adorable small animals and enjoy unforgettable moments with horses, whether on a horse-drawn carriage ride or riding a pony.
Catering students are offering samples of mocktails. The drinks are also suitable for younger people.

Side program at the Harvest Market
Field tours of Green City Farm, led by tourism students from Perho Business College. On the tour, you’ll learn about organic farming and see the vegetables, herbs and flowers currently in season. Tours with tourism students depart at 10.30 and 14.15

Non-alcoholic drinks created using recipes by catering students, made with herbs and vegetables from their own fields. Make a note of these easy recipes.

You can take part in horse riding and horse-drawn carriage rides at your own expense.

The Travelling Farm is coming from Pyhtää, bringing with it, amongst other things, a pony, a rabbit, a mini pig, a sheep, a hen and a cockerel.

Perho offers training programmes in the restaurant, tourism and nature sectors, as well as in business. Furthermore, as a sports college, we have a special role to play – we enable students to combine competitive sport and their studies seamlessly.

Children are taking part in exercise sessions on the obstacle course at the Helmi Centre sports and wellbeing centre, under the guidance of business students.
Come and do a lap of the course and jump over the obstacles. On the course, you can practise clearing the obstacles safely and creatively. Obstacles at just the right height and a spacious area make the course an inspiring place for both beginners and experienced show jumping enthusiasts.

In the Fairy Tale Corner, children can take a moment’s respite from the hustle and bustle of the harvest market to listen to fairy tales. Our business students read short fairy tales from the Hanhiemo Fairy Tale Treasury to the audience.

The pea-bag throwing game and Mölkky offer players some light-hearted competition, laughter and just the right amount of precision. Take your turn at the throw and let the games decide who is the true champion of the harvest market! Business students are acting as game coordinators for this event too.
Young artists can put their creativity and accuracy to the test. Here you’ll find fun colouring pictures, coloured pencils and blank paper for your own creations, where you can let your imagination run wild.
