notification: Distance learning continues at Perho Culinary, Tourism & Business College, at least until 31 January 2021
7.1.2021
The Helsinki Metropolitan Area Coronavirus Coordination Group has extended the duration of the regional restrictive measures mainly until January 31, 2021. This means that the new academic year at Perho Culinary, Tourism & Business College will begin with distance learning, continuing in all fields of study until at least January 31, 2021.
According to the Corona Coordination Group, it is still difficult to reliably assess the impact of the Christmas and New Year period on the development of the epidemic situation. Today the coordination group has decided that the coronavirus-related restrictions and recommendations set at the end of November for the Helsinki Metropolitan Area will be extended until January 31, 2021. Restrictions include the stipulation that vocational training should be continued as distance learning. However, necessary in-person teaching needs will be provided for.
As the restrictions continue, the 2021 academic year at Perho Culinary, Tourism & Business College will start with distance learning and we will return to contact teaching in groups no earlier than February 1, 2021, if the regional coronavirus situation and official guidelines provide safe conditions to do so. Despite restrictions, our campuses are still open for study support services and learning requiring special support.
Timetables and practical matters concerning starting groups
In January 2021, new groups starting their degree studies will be given the opportunity to start their studies at the Malmi and Töölö campuses, safely and according to the restrictions on gatherings. New starting groups will be informed about timetables and practical matters separately by e-mail and on Wilma (by field of study and campus).
The support services will still be available throughout the distance learning
The support services of Perho Culinary, Tourism & Business College will still be available throughout the distance learning phase. The premises of Helmi Center on the Malmi campus will remain closed in accordance with the restrictions on indoor sports.
