Restaurant Waiters are trained to carry out customer service tasks, as well as work in sales in the hospitality industry with different business ideas or missions. To become a hospitality expert, we offer work-based studies by apprenticeship contract or training agreement. There is no tuition fee.

A Restaurant Waiter is a hospitality expert who has completed the competence area of customer service and is qualified to work at various tasks in the hospitality field like hotels and lounges, cruise ships, restaurants with different concepts, nightclubs and cocktail bars, cafés and catering, tourism service companies or various institutions.

Restaurant Waiters serve customers in a customer-oriented manner using professional terms. They are also profitable, productive and responsible in a sales-minded and quality-conscious. They can also operate with hygiene requirements per compliance and sustainable operating practices.

Who can apply

Work-based studies:
You live in Finland and lack vocational qualification or a study place. You have previous work experience and your current employer is willing to sign an apprenticeship or a training agreement.

You have a sufficient level of English language skills.

Duration of studies

1–1,5 years on average



Continuous admission 24/7 throughout the year.

You can start studies flexibly.

No formal entrance test

Personal interviews for selected applicants.

In the studies you will

  • learn to work in a multi-cultural team and to serve a variety of food and beverages regarding gastronomic requirements
  • get the quality skills and knowledge of sustainability required in the hospitality field
  • polish your eye for aesthetics
  • develop your already good language and interaction skills with the vocabulary of hospitality context.
