Travel Assistant

Guiding in Foreign Language unit of the further vocational qualification of Guide Services

Do you have current or previous work experience in the tourism industry or customer service? Are you interested in handling international travellers and groups at piers and airports in the Helsinki metropolitan area?

Perho Culinary, Tourism & Business College’s Travel Assistant training consists of multiform learning, including contact lessons, practical training and online learning, focusing on customer service and guiding skills in the tourism industry.

Studies increase your comprehension and working possibilities in the tourism industry developing and strengthening your professional identity through the knowledge, the skills and the appropriate attitude to work. They also help you to build professional networks.

The completed training and the passed competence test of the Guiding in Foreign Language/Opastaminen vieraalla kielellä unit enable you to work as a freelance Travel Assistant. If you continue the studies to the entire further vocational qualification of Guide Services, you’ll become an authorized Helsinki tour guide.

Studies are also available as labour market training.

Who can apply

Requirements for applicants:
previous work experience in the tourism industry or in customer service and strong motivation to work in different types of customer servant duties.

Good physical condition – the work requires a great deal of time standing and walking.

Spoken and written in Finnish on satisfactory level and adequate written & oral skills in English and at least one other foreign language.

Readiness for online learning.
