Evaluations of Perho Culinary, Tourism & Business College
Reliability
We collect feedback on our activity by the year following the Annual Planner of Questionnaires. Our interest groups can create a bias towards our operation through their comments.
As we manage well to activate to reply, it affects the reliability of the query results. The table below shows how we have succeeded in the response rate compared with the average of the student and working life feedback in the national Arvo Query of the Finnish National Agency for Education. We highly value the responders, and we are grateful for all feedback.
Students’ views of the pivotal stages in the studies
The Perho Quality aims to confirm the realization of our strategy of Learning and growth and develop our operations to meet the goals. In our feedback, we mainly utilize as well as the Finnish National Agency for Education a five steps scale.
Our other key process is advancing students to learn. From their point of view, the pivotal stages in this process are programming studies (personal competence development plan), working guidance & support and assessment by the given criteria. The table below shows the students’ evaluations on Perho (period yearly 1st July – June 30th) in the Arvo Query.
Mainly the feedback on vocational education is also nationally of a good grade. The target of Perho is to be the number one choice. Therefore we aim for better results than the national average according to student contentment. You can see our results compared with the national average of the Arvo Query (period 1st July 2023-30th June 2024) in the table below.
The table below gathers the averages of students’ feedback (period 1st July 2023-30th June 2024) on a general proposition “I am satisfied with the education and training I have received” of the Arvo Query’s questions for “Exit stage (of the studies)”. The feedback is only for the studies of a minimum of five responders.

In the table below, you can see how the students have valued matters of sustainability in Perho during the last years in the Arvo Query’s “Exit Stage (of the studies)”. The national average grade in 2024 on readiness for sustainable development was 4,2 The average for equality and equal treatment was 4,4.
Students’ views in the early stage of the studies
In the Vipunen, propositions of the “Early stage studies” were grouped into the ethos of studies in the early stages, the personal competence development plan (PCDP) and a general & mutual valuation.
At the beginning of their studies, students in Perho are as satisfied with their studies as they are on average in Finland. As the studies progress, satisfaction with Perho increases and at the end of the studies students are more satisfied with their studies than the average in Finland.
The table below compares students’ satisfaction with the early stage of their studies over a period of three years
Student’s views about the on-the-job-learning
In vocational education, the central learning environment is learning in working life. After the training or apprenticeship period, students can give written feedback about the period using Perho’s own feedback survey.
If a sufficient number of feedbacks are given for an individual company (more than 5 pieces), summaries of them will also be sent to the companies. Internally, these feedbacks serve as important development material for us. The table below contains a summary of key claims about learning in working life by field of education.
Students’ views about the on-the-job learning
In the summer of 2021, the National Board of Education’s working life feedback started. Every six months, workplace representatives are asked for information about cooperation.
Our second key process at Perho the development of working life, so the feedback received from working life gives us important information about the functionality of this key process.
The workplaces give us very positive feedback on our operations, which motivates us to continue developing cooperation and our teaching all the time
Attached is a comparison of some key claims between the average of the national evaluations obtained from Perho’s operations. (period 1st July 2023-30th June 2024).

After each training or apprenticeship period, the workplace supervisor also receives his own feedback survey link in his email and phone via the Arvo system.
This short survey of ten statements is the most important working life feedback and gives us information all year round. The table below summarizes the workplace counselors’ views on the two main claims by degree (period 1st July 2023-30th June 2024).
