Erasmus+ Value Europe Workshop 3
Students’ Learning Experiences in The Value Europe Project
The Erasmus+ Value Europe project’s last workshop number 3 was in Rovigo, Italy, on 9th–15th October 2023.
The workshop in Italy and a finishing meeting of the eBook in Spain packed and wrapped the Erasmus+ Value Europe Project at the end of October.
Study the summary of the workshop below!
Student group 1:
RECYCLING LAB
by Matteo, Pep, Ariadna, Vilja, Leila, Alessandro & Eevi
The Recycling Lab was an idea developed, in order, to make students understand the importance of sustainability.
The plan was to give them recycled materials and examples of what they could create out of them and show how recycled material can be turned into something completely new and have fun while doing it.
Final plan and execution
We gave them instructions to do something new out of the recycled materials. We made them examples of what they can do. Animals, piggy bank, pen holder, maracas, etc.
We had a lot of recycled materials and decoration materials. For example plastic bottles, paper rolls, paints, glue, cardboard, etc.
Learnings
- How to plan an event and how to work in an international group.
- How to make plans together online and to use platforms such as Microsoft Teams.
- How to reuse waste materials.
Improvements
In the future, we would like to do more planning together before the workshop week. The plan for the whole week could be clearer so that everybody is aware of what is happening.
…but everything else went smoothly and our teamwork was amazing!
Feedback from the other students
More time … I think it was perfect! … Perhaps more materials could be added, for example, more colours.
Our feedback to ourselves
We enjoyed working in international teams and learned a lot. It was great to work with young students who enjoyed our activity. It was a good learning opportunity to learn about event management in general. Our teamwork was great and we got along well!
Our idea for future events
Advertising and marketing on social media, in partnership with local administration and promotions by the volunteers of e.g. the Red Cross. Co-operation with the Red Cross and the events could be about how plastic waste impacts our lives: explaining how plastic is dangerous for our body and making activities that show how to recognise the problem.
Student group 2:
SUSTAINABILITY
by Onna, Martina, Alice, Netta, Raquel, Pol & Jim
Student group 3:
PLASTIC FREE
by Peppi, Sanni, Naomi, Silvia, Paula, Francesco & Aurora
We did the feedback with paper and Google Forms.
Feedback 4,5
- Rated: average of 4,5
- Everyone liked the activity
- They will be more sustainable in the future
- Their favourite part was either plastic-free or our game.
Student group 4:
GARDENING
by Gerad, Samuel, Railin Núria, Vittoria & Diego
Student group 5:
CROSSWORD PUZZLE
by Noora, Sebastian, Daniela, Anastasia, Eloize, Maya, Andrea & Susanna
Our activity was a low-budget event, a Crossword Puzzle, with words related to sustainability. We had different responsibilities to make the action work out:
- Team leader (Noora)
- Explanation of the activity (Sebastian, Daniela)
- Reading of the clues/definitions (Anastasia, Eloize)
- Help in Italian (Maya)
- Filling out the crossword (Andrea, Susanna)
- Explaining of feedbacks (Maya)
- Taking photos & videos (Eloize & Susanna, Sebastian & Daniela)
+ Special thanks to De Amicis School, which acquired all materials for the event!
Getting ready for a sustainable event
Brainstorming …researching different options …planning & budgeting in international Teams Meetings …voting for the best activities …and there it was: a Crossword Puzzle!
Feedback 5/5
Let’s say: the event went very well, thank you! The students gained knowledge about recycling that know-how they can use now and in the future.
They evaluated our Crossword Puzzle as useful and dynamic, the most appreciated activity was plogging.
What did our team get?
- Improvement of social & language skills
- Practicing activity planning and event organizing
- International communication skills
- Awareness of the environment & sustainability
- Development of inventiveness & creativity
